This is a blog for my memoirs. My name is Annie Armstrong. I live in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
My wonderful niece Elizabeth Ellen (Lizelle) and her husband Steve suggested I use this blog to do my writing. They have been most patient and helpful in getting everything set up for me. You can read Lizelle’s explanation for how this project came about.
So much of what I experienced in Plainview, Chicago, Santa Fe, and Los Alamos I didn’t really understand at the time. It wasn’t until years later that I came to appreciate the magnitude and importance of the people I knew and the events I experienced. I’ve tried to recount those experiences as best I can remember them, now that they occurred more than 65 years ago.
I’m writing this primarily for myself and Lizelle and her family. But I hope if you’ve made it this far and found this page, you’ll read a little more and maybe find something that’s worthwhile. I’ll add chapters as I complete them and try to keep up with the audio recordings if you’d rather listen than read.
